Absolutely, purges represent a significant part of Weaver-SecurShred’s information destruction business. We would be glad to meet with you and provide pricing for your purge requirements. However, don’t forget that incidental daily business records (records not commonly covered by your retention and disposal policies) represent approximately 60% of the paper (information) generated in a typical office environment. Locked containers, regularly scheduled service and written policies for disposal of these records is the best way to assure this information remains confidential and gets destroyed.
Weaver-SecurShred’s facilities will be located in Akron, Ohio and the areas served will include most of Northeast Ohio. The counties include: Summit, Stark, Medina, Wayne, Cuyahoga, Portage, Tuscarawas, Holmes, Carroll, Columbiana, Mahoning, Trumbull, Ashtabula, Lake and Geauga.
No, materials are collected in locked containers and transported in locked Weaver-SecurShred trucks to our secure facility. We utilize a large state-of-the-art commercial shredder that shreds your information into 5/16” strips and co-mingles it with other shredded material. It is then immediately baled making it virtually impossible to reassemble.
Yes, at the time of pick up, you will receive a receipt for the materials. Then, the morning after destruction of your materials, you will be mailed an Invoice and Certificate of Destruction containing all the relevant information relating to the destruction.
Congratulations, you have made a very smart decision. Getting started is really quite simple. Call the Weaver-SecurShred number listed at the bottom of this page and ask for Customer Service. You will be asked a few questions and then a meeting will be arranged. The purpose of the meeting is to listen to what you want to accomplish with this service and evaluate your needs. A proposal will be presented, you select Weaver-SecurShred, agree to a start date and we pretty much do the rest.
We have decided to select Weaver-SecurShred. What happens now and how does the regularly scheduled service work?
Congratulations again, you have made another very smart decision. Once you have advised us of this great news, Weaver-SecurShred will prepare and present a Service Agreement spelling out in greater detail the information contained in the proposal. Read this carefully as it does contain the terms and conditions by which we agree to work together. Once signed, the ball begins to roll. On the specified date and time, Weaver-SecurShred will arrive at your location with the bins/consoles and place them where you want them. Then, as scheduled, Weaver-SecurShred will return to your location with empty bins/console bags and swap them with the full ones. The full ones will remain locked and will be placed in Weaver-SecurShred’s truck (which will also be locked at all times-except when in use). IMPORTANT NOTE: Your bins are never opened until they are safe and secure inside our shredding facility.
Yes (lockable ones) and Nothing (at least for you). During your meeting with Weaver-SecurShred you will be exchanging information which will be used for determining type, size and quantity of containers specific to your needs. This will then be incorporated and presented to you in the form of a proposal. Upon acceptance of the proposal, a start date will be determined and Weaver-SecurShred will do the rest (including providing the consoles and bins).
Call us and we will make arrangements to swap the full containers with empty ones. This is not unusual for a few months after starting the service. During the initial meetings, Weaver-SecurShred personnel were attempting to determine the optimum number, size and type of containers necessary to service your facility. The goal was to provide the best service and save you money. If it is determined that more bins/consoles are needed, the quantity (and yes the price) will be adjusted.
We can shred paper of any color or type. Also, you do not need to remove the paper from the folders or binders; we will do that if necessary. Also, don’t worry about paper clips, binder clips, rubber bands or staples, we will either remove them or shred them with the paper. We also have the ability to shred (destroy); CD’s, Disks, DVD’s, micro fiche, x-rays and just about any form of electronic media. If they are limited in quantity, they can simply be placed in the bins/consoles. If you have large volumes of these items, please contact us so we can make arrangements to pick them up.
Yes, Weaver-SecurShred can destroy hard drives. However, this service is not part of the regular scheduled document pickup service. A separate agreement must be reached to provide for security of the hard drives, pick up and pricing. The hard drives are not shredded nor are they degaussed (wiped clean using magnets). They are physically crushed beyond any possibility of reassembly or recovery and the information is permanently destroyed.
Two ways. 1) You may make arrangements with Weaver-SecurShred to come to our facility and physically watch the destruction of your information and documents. Weaver-SecurShred processes documents for many customers. With prior arrangements, we will have your documents ready for shredding upon your arrival. However, to guarantee the security of other customers’ information, you will not be allowed to witness the destruction of their information. 2) Weaver-SecurShred has the ability to allow you to witness the destruction of your documents from the comfort of your office. Our facility has an extensive security system to protect and assure the security of your documents and information. This system includes cameras, computers, recorders and alarms. When you advise us of the need to witness the destruction of your documents, we can provide you access to view the destruction though our security system. You will be provided a password for the time it takes to shred your documents. Once your documents are shredded, your password will be voided. It’s easy and convenient with no need to leave your office.
The required retention period for business records varies by industry, useful life and government statute. Consult with your attorney and accountant to determine these requirements. Then create a written information security, retention and destruction policy. Finally, FOLLOW THE POLICY! This type of policy and evidence of ongoing scheduled destruction (Certificates of Destruction) provides evidence that you value and have controls for safeguarding your confidential information. However, don’t forget that incidental daily business records (records not commonly covered by your retention and disposal policies) represent approximately 60% of the paper (information) generated in a typical office environment. Locked containers, regularly scheduled service and inclusion in your policies of these records is the best way to assure this information remains confidential and gets destroyed.
For security. Security for you. Security for your customers. Security for your employees. Recycling services are not designed to provide security. Typically they use open collection containers accessible to anyone, personnel that have had little or no background screening, the truck containing your information is not secured, the paper is taken to a warehouse which may be assessable to the public and in some instances the paper is stock piled for months. Recycling is good for the environment (all the paper Weaver-SecurShred shreds is recycled) but is a very small step above the trash in regards to security.

We have files that need to be shredded, but need to sort through them. Do you have containers that we can use?
Yes. Please call us at the number listed at the bottom of this page and ask for customer service. Weaver-SecurShred has several sizes and types of containers for the collection of documents for shredding. We will meet with you and agree to a plan that includes dates, times, styles, types, sizes and quantities of collections bins.
Yes. Weaver-SecurShred will allow customers to bring materials to our shredding facility. However, due to security reasons, the customer will not be allowed into the part of the facility where the shredding is performed. When the materials arrive, a Weaver-SecurShred employee will inspect (this may include weighing) the material and advise you of the cost to perform the shredding. There is a minimum charge for this service.
Yes. Weaver-SecurShred is a NAID AAA Certified document and information destruction company. As such, we abide by the NAID code of conduct and prescribed operating procedures.
There are too many variables to lump all customers together into one price list. It would be similar to pricing all cars the same regardless of make or model. Weaver-SecurShred listens very carefully during the initial meetings with its customers. By designing an information destruction plan specific to your needs you get the best value.
